Washi Wednesday Cactus Card

It’s midweek and currently, one of our favorite days because it’s #washiwednesday! Nita is a planner babe by nature, but she’s starting to get into making more and more cards. Her card this week is simply all about the washi — she walks you through how you can make washi the feature on your card by simply weaving the different tapes!

In case you missed them, here are the other fun #washiwednesday projects other team members have created for our blog series:

  1. Washi Tape Bows – Samantha
  2. Fun Fiesta Card – Angeline

About this card, Nita says:

When sending out Happy Mail I love to leave personalized notecards inside the gifts. Many of the planner girls like to recycle cute cards by punching them into their planners as keepsakes

This planner babe recently was on a trip in Arizona, so I thought the cactus would be the perfect stamp to use when creating this card.

First, Nita layed her diamond print washi and her green washi diagonally across the card. She then layered another piece of the diamond print washi along with a teal print washi diagonally in the opposite direction. This creates the weaving effect.

Next Nita stamped and colored a few different cacti from our Cactus set.

I not sure how many I wanted to use. After I finished coloring and cutting out my cacti I used double sided adhesive to attach my cacti to my card.

Nita wants to remind us that it’s okay to be different:

It’s easy to compare yourself in these creative environments. But what I’ve learned is that we all have something special to offer!!

What a lucky recipient and we bet that she’s going to love her card! Check out the rest of the Sweet washi tape collection HERE and we’ll see you back on Friday with another Contributor Spotlight.
