Custom Scratch Off Cards – Amy

We love this idea of scratch cards being used in papercrafting and if you’ve ever wanted to try to recreate this look yourself, it’s a lot easier than it looks! Amy walks you through how she quickly created this fun card.

Hi all, it’s Amy here with a toot-sweet tutorial on creating customized scratch-off cards which are becoming all the rage lately. Here’s a fun design I’ve created using the adorable 3×3 set Job For combined with a bit of ‘stamp surgery’ and scratch off stickers that I found HERE on Amazon.

I started by performing a bit of stamp surgery on the three options on the lower portion of Job For (wine, retail therapy, coffee) and then positioned each of the stamp portions on top of my card base, leaving enough room between each option for the 1″ scratch off stickers. (Notice in the picture below where I snipped the lower line of script into three sections.) Once I had my stamps positioned and spaced accordingly, I stamped them onto the card base using my MISTI for precise stamping and solid coverage.

Next, I added a bit of color to the main image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers along with a tiny dab next to my ‘choice’ (retail therapy) that will be revealed once the recipient starts scratching away.

Once my watercolors dried it was time to apply the scratch off stickers – almost as much fun as scratching them off!

And here’s a look at the finished scratch-off card ready to find its recipient.

I’m so glad you scratched out a bit of your day to spend with me here on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog! There are so many Sweet Stamp Shop sets that would fit perfectly behind these fun scratch off stickers, and Pug Life comes to mind first, so be on the look out for more from me. Now it’s your turn to get scratchin’, and I’d love to see what you come up with, so please tag Sweet Stamp Shop on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. You can also tag me on Instagram @rohla.
