Gift Tags using Stamps and Stickers – Callie

Callie is representing Sweet today with THE cuteset gift tags! She uses a plethora of our stamps and stickers to showcase that you can take any of our images and make it into a personalized tag of your own.

Hello Sweet friends! Callie here and I am up back on the blog today to share a tutorial on making gift tags.  I don’t know about you, but I have come to rely on gift bags for my gift giving most of the time, instead of dragging out the wrapping paper and wrapping a gift.  The only thing I always wish that I had at the ready are cute tags.  Wouldn’t that make a quick wrapping job even quicker?  Well, Sweet Stamps and Sticky Sweets to the rescue!  I made myself a nice little stash of gift tags that are ready to tie onto a package. Now how Sweet is that??

I like to pick up pre-cut tags when I see them on sale at the craft store, and often I run across them at other discount stores in the stationary section. You can also quite easily just cut your own from some card stock, maybe round the top corners and punch a hole at the top for the string.  If I make my own I like to reinforce the hole with a hole reinforcement sticker.  There are also some punches available on the market that make tags.  Use whatever you have and have fun with it!

The first thing I did, was to pull out a few stamp sets and sentiments that would work for birthdays, thank you, and all occasion tags.  I also grabbed some of my Sticky Sweet’s.  I decided to stamp my images on a piece of sticker paper rather than directly on the tags. Since I am using some black and Kraft colored tags, stamping directly to them wouldn’t work as well as on the white tags.   I stamped multiples of most of the images, so that I would have lots to choose from.

It was a lot of fun to just color in all the images and was a good way to practice my coloring skills as well 🙂

Next [and this was the really fun part] was to start laying out stickers on my blank tags. This part took me maybe 15 minutes, I didn’t worry too much about it, I just started combining and making them super cute!  I then stamped on some of the various sentiments. Some are birthday, some are thank you, and some are just left kind of blank for any occasion that may come up. For the black cardstock, I heat embossed the sentiments in white and, I wrote on them with white gel pen and I think it looks pretty cool!

The last thing I did was to cut some twine and tied a piece on each tag, so they really are ready-to-go!

I ended up making quite a good amount of tags with just that one sheet of sticker paper and a couple of Sticky Sweet stickers.  I’m really happy with how they turned out and that I have them all ready to go when I need them.   I’m going to store these in with my gift bags and have a ready to go tag!  I think my gift recipients are going to enjoy these little handmade tags and I encourage you to do the same!
