Sweet Chemistry

Hello again!
Samantha here, and I’m sharing with you, a duo of cards using (mainly) the Elements stamp set! These cards mainly focus on creating a background for your cards with stamping! Both cards are SUPER fun, but they’re completely different, which is one of the reasons I LOVE stamping!

Ok, so I started off by stamping and coloring my main images with Copics. I just am in LOVE with copics when coloring! They are so bright and you can really get a lot of detail if you try! For me, I am no coloring guru, so I mainly focus on adding shading and contrast with my markers!

Once the images are fussy cut and set aside, we can work on the backgrounds! I created my own backgrounds by just repeat stamping some of the images in black onto a white card base. Easy!

To add the sentiment to the date card, I did some masking with washi tape! I simply covered up the part of the stamp from Epic Notes that I didn’t want to use with a small piece of washi tape. Then I pressed my stamp in my ink pad. Then I removed the washi, and stamped onto the background! Not very difficult, and it really allows you to stretch your stamps, as I’ve done here!

Once the backgrounds were done, I popped up my colored images with foam tape, for some dimension, and then decided the cards were looking a little…meh. So I dug out my Distress Ink pads and added some blending to the outsides of the cards! This instantly transformed the cards and brought them to life!

I so hope you enjoyed seeing my process when creating cards! The stamped backgrounds add a lot of life and interest, I think! And I just LOVE those periodic table phrases on the stamp set!! I turned mine into balloons! Ha!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and be sure to stay tuned to all the happenings with Sweet Stamp Shop through their Facebook page and Instagram!
