Samantha here with you today, and I’m super excited to share a trio of easy, watercolored cards that I created in under 13 minutes! Yes, three cards, and under 13 minutes! It’s so easy to do, and so fun! All you need is your favorite larger Sweet Stamp Shop set, watercolors and a black ink pad!
I used my hands down, favorite image from Sweet Stamp Shop – the US map from Across the Miles!
I used a hybrid ink pad for my stamping. But all that means, is it would allow me to add the color with watercolors, copics, colored pencils, you name it! But if you don’t have a hybrid ink pad, or archival ink pad, all you have to do is add your watercoloring to the paper first!
Ok, once the image was stamped 3 times, it gets fun! I used Distress Inks for my watercolor! Easy: smoosh the ink pad face down onto a craft mat or other slick surface. Spritz with water from a mister, or use a water saturated brush and pick up some color! (tip: the less water you use, the less warping of the paper and less time it will take to dry!)
I applied the watercolors in a loose ombre pattern, but the sky is the limit with watercoloring!
I set the panels aside to dry, and then stamped out the sentiments from my OTHER all time favorite stamp set: Alpha Tabs! Seriously, these two sets – be still my heart, I just LOVE them!
I decided to go with a simple word, and stamped out the letters each three times, and did a quick fussy cut! At this point, I stitched the letters onto the watercolored pieces, but you could just as easily add them with foam tape, staples or glue!
I popped those card fronts onto a white card base with two strips of my favorite wash, and ding ding ding! Three super awesome cards, in less than 13 minutes!
Let me know your thoughts! Are you up for a speed challenge?
