DIY Sweet Embellishments

Samantha here again, and I’m here to share a super FUN layout that I made with custom embellishments I made using Sweet Stamp Shops!

I was totally inspired by cute arrow embellishments I saw here, and I thought, I must have them! Better yet…I must MAKE them! Ha! And making the arrows was SO fun, and not as hard as you might think!
All you need is some wooden toothpicks, thread, (definitely lots of liquid glue) and of course those adorable leaves from Fall into Christmas!

First, I stamped the leaves onto some scraps of watercolor paper I had lying around. Then I watercolored them with my Peerless Watercolors. Once they were dry, I fussy cut them out!

To assemble the arrows, I took the flags off of the wooden toothpicks, and wrapped some embroidery thread around the end. This will gives the leaves something to ‘hold on to’ when we glue them on! Once the leaves were glued on, I also cut tiny triangles out of cardstock that I glued to the tip of the toothpicks!
I also added some glitter to the points!

Doesn’t that just transform the leaves? I love the warm and bold fall colors!
All that was left, was to add these fun guys to a layout!

I just had to choose the photo of my littlest Mann asleep in his hulk costume! Mind you, he was tucked in that night in PJ’s! He just got up, changed and then went to sleep! Ha!

I love the slight dimension the arrows add, and the fun pops of color they add to the layout!

So that’s it! What do you think? Are you ready to look at your stamps different and make some of your own embellishments?

Be sure to link up what you make to the Sweet Stamp Shop Facebook or Pinterest pages, tag Sweet Stamp Shop on Instagram and tweet your projects! We LOVE to see what you make!
