Mashing Up the Sweet Veggies Again!

Hello friends! It’s time for my second Sweet Stamp Shop Mash-Up! In case you missed my last post, for the next few weeks I’m sharing cards utilizing my self-proclaimed Sweet Stamp Mash-Up technique, where we take two unrelated Sweet stamp sets, and pair them together to create something fun and often unexpected. It’s a great way to jumpstart creativity, as well as to make use of all those stamps we’re collecting!

For today’s card I’ve mashed-up Veggin and Speech Bubbles. Veggin is new to my collection, and Speech Bubbles has been a well-loved and well-used stamp set, so I was excited to match these up and make them work together.

I am a huge fan of paper-piecing, and Nicole’s stamps are just perfect for this technique because of their clean, bold lines. I snapped a few pictures along the way, to show you how I layered these happy little veggies together.

Step One: To begin with, I stamped the veggies on a variety of cardstocks. It looks like a big mess right now, but bear with me!

Step Two: I decided on gray for my base, so I stamped the image and then began to trim bits and pieces of my veggies, laying them out on the gray cardstock.
Step Three: Once everything was trimmed, I began adhering the layers. It helps to have a fine tip glue pen to adhere the tiny pieces. I worked my way from back to front, so that the background veggies were glued before the front ones.

Once I completed my veggie scene, I had some fun with the Speech Bubbles. I stamped the bubbles, added some sentiments, trimmed and adhered them with foam tape. Talking veggies? Yes, please!
I have one more Sweet Stamp Mash-Up to share with you next week! If you haven’t tried mashing up some of your favorite stamp sets, I hope you’ll give it a shot this week! And as always, we’d love to see what you create! Share a link here in the comments, or share them on the Sweet Stamp Shop Facebook page!
