Hello Planner Sweets 🙂
It’s Candi back with you again today to share some stamping fun. For today’s blog post, I wanted to share with you, in detail, how to use the clear stamps. I know some of you are new to stamping and would like to learn a few tips and tricks! I am not an expert, but this is how I use the clear stamps and how it has worked for me over the MANY years of experience. (yeah, my first rubber stamp was purchased back in 1992!!!)
To get started you will need acrylic blocks (I still need to order the acrylic block trio!!!), clear stamps and a few ink pads. I am always using black and my favorite go to black is Versafine Onyx Black. It gives such a crisp image every time and I never have any issues of my ink bleeding through my pages. For my colored inks, I just grabbed some of my dye ink that I have had for years. I know chalk inks work great and I do have a few of those, but I am always grabbing the dye ink pads first.
First thing I do is pick out the clear stamp (I am using the “check mark”) that I am going to use and peel it off of the sheet and place it on to the acrylic block. The clear stamp is tacky and just sticks to the acrylic block nicely.
Time to stamp 🙂 I hold the acrylic block and use a tapping motion lightly…not hard and tap the clear stamp against the ink pad. Almost EVERY time before I stamp out my image on the original area, I test it out first on some scrap paper…I just like to make sure that the whole stamp is inked up enough and I like to see how it stamps out. I then ink up the stamp once again and stamp it on my original cardstock/paper.
As you can see here, I stamped the “check mark” in the box to know that my to do list is complete…
Also a little close up of those AMAZING Kirarina-2win Markers!!! (sorry for always bringing them up in my posts, but they really are awesome!!!)
Time to clean that clear stamp off! I have a little travel package of baby wipes and I tap my clear stamp onto the baby wipe…works great! Once your clear stamp is clean, peel it off and place it back on to the sheet.
I had to throw in a little project into this post too 🙂 I thought stamping out the weather for the week on a little piece of cardstock would be perfect! I used some patterned paper and a piece of white cardstock. Adhered them together and used my mini stapler.
I used a marker to write down the first letter of each day and then stamped out the weather using the stamps from Plan to Go! Wrote down the highs/lows and added some snowflakes around the corners 🙂
There it is…paper clipped to my week for an easy glance!
