Hello everyone! It’s me, Kymona and I’m super excited to be here with my very first blog post for Sweet Stamp Shop!!
I have a pretty tough act to follow! Did you see all of the great projects yesterday using the September Stamp Release from the new Design Team!! If you missed it please, be sure to check it out here.
Today, I’m going to talk to you about what it means to create a clean and simple card or CAS.
My definition of CAS is:
1. A lot of white space or colored space depending on the color cardstock you choose.
2. Free of clutter.
3. Not complicated to create, Simple.
Let’s take a look at my card that is CAS:
This card was created with the above definition in mind.
1. White space:
I used painters tape and masked of 1″ on all four side of the card that I didn’t want ink on. I wanted to make sure my ink was confined to a very small area on this card. Which created a good amount of white space.
2. Free of clutter:
I strategically stamped my sentiment and image so that my workspace was clutter free. Your eyes start at the top of the card with the “Thank You” sentiment, down the monkey’s back to his open arms which guides you to the sentiment at the bottom. Some wood veneers, thread and sequins were added to the card for dimension.
When you look at this card, you clearly can see that it didn’t take a long time to create this card. There was some sponging with one color of ink. The sentiment and images were stamped in black. The monkey was colored and then the embellishments were added. This card was created in ten minutes tops.
So what do you think about creating Clean and Simple card? Once you give it a try, you will really enjoy this technique. I hope this definition and card inspires you to create a Clean and Simple Card.
