Happy Friday! Michele, here, with a little mini album project today. Earlier this summer my daughter and I visited the local botanical gardens. The highlight of the gardens for her was the children’s garden. We spent half the day there, easily. There was an area that was essentially a maze, with tunnels covered in plants. A dream come true for a child! Pure magic. So I titled my album The Secret Garden, and I used quotes throughout from the classic book by the same name, by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
The original album base has a pink, black and white color scheme. I left the pink outer cover, but I used patterned paper on all the interior pages. The paper collection and many of the stickers and die cuts I’ve used are from BasicGrey’s “Mint Julep” collection.
I stamped a flower from the Elegant Flowers stamp set on to several different papers and cut them out to use as embellishments. It’s always helpful to have flat embellies in a mini album, and repeating the same flower image over and over brings everything together.
This album is unique in that it has some hidden pages that you pull out. Perfect for The Secret Garden theme!
I saved a few pages for my blog, so if you’d like to see the rest of the mini, please head on over – It’s About the Paper.
The flower stamp I used is from Elegant Flowers:
