{Reflections} on my 30s and a Watercolor Pencil Tutorial

Hi, Jen Boumis here today sharing a page in an album very personal to me using the On Cherry Street: Reflections kit. For months now, I’ve had an idea percolating. At 39 there was an urgency to document the life changes of the past decade: travel, finding love, body transformation, marriage, motherhood, saying goodbye to a career and hello to a new home. Big role changes requiring big reflections. This kit? A perfect starting point.

The opening page of my album was shared in the post for the kit launch: here. Today I’m sharing a page with my thoughts on motherhood.

JBoumis_AugOCS2Any mom reading this will get the octopus reference right away! So many roles for one person, so little time. It’s the truth and also documented a bit tongue in cheek. But, go deeper. Lift up and reveal what’s under those surface jobs and you’ll see the hopes, concerns and dreams I have for my three babies.

JBoumis_AugOCS3As a list maker, I love the Reflections stamp set. Perfect prompts to set the tone. For this card, under my flip, I decided to use watercolor pencils and a water pen to add touches of color to match the rest of the layout. Here’s a brief video demonstrating how to achieve the same effect:
