It’s Chrissy on the blog today and I’m ready to go! This sketch is extra special because it isn’t just for CAS(E) this Sketch, it also works for the new Tag You’re It challenge. Yup, this week the two are teaming up to give you even more inspiration and the best part is, you are the first to know about it. Everyone else will be in the know when the challenge goes live on Jul 31st. Shhh…don’t tell anyone I told you. 😉 For now, here’s the sketch:
Pretty cool isn’t? Now the trick is that since we are combining challenges we have to use the sketch and make a tag or something with a tag on it. No problem, right? I decided to make two cards with the same layout and the same tag die. Are you ready to see them?
I used some super fun graphic patterned paper that I had for this card and I LOVE the combo of patterns. I stamped my Mr. and Mrs. in a spot on the paper that would match up to the spot I wanted them on the tag. That way, I could cut them out together, pop them up with foam, but not have them look out of place on the patterned paper. One of the other things I like about this card is that I just wrapped twine through the hole instead of tying a bow or knot. I struggle with bows and I’m lucky to make a knot look right so this worked out well.
For my next card, I decided to use the negative of the tag instead of the cut itself and turn it into a shaker card. I used the new Princess set…love it!
I just love how happy this card ended up being. My first thought when I saw the sketch was to make the tag a sort of window that some of the Sweet animals could peek through but when I got down to creating the card, it sort of started going down a rainbow road. I decided that my rainbow dotted card front with the acetate tag window needed something more. So, I built a frame around my tag with foam tape to hold in my sequins, and added a background of green dots to finish off this fun tag shaker. Princess had the most perfect addition to my card with that fun rainbow. So fun! I know a certain college student who will be getting this in her care package when school starts. 😉
Thanks for joining me for this super special sneak peek at TWO challenges coming up this week. What do you guys think? Do you like combining challenges or do you prefer to make a separate card for each challenge? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Also, have you checked out our Sweet Pinterest boards? If you love Sweet Stamps, you will love all the inspiration on these boards. They are awesome. Have a great day and I’ll see you again soon…tomorrow actually! 😉
