Yes, you read that right – stick puppets are on the SWEET blog today! Hey everyone, Michele here, from It’s About the Paper. Summer is in full swing, and for a lot of people that means finding fun activities for the kids. So let’s get out our stamps and make something fun!
All of the Sweet Stamp Shop animals and their accessories are great little characters. Color them up, cut them out, and give them some personality!
Then find something tall and skinny to attach to the backs – popsicle sticks, straws, pencils, you name it. I used BBQ skewers! Use your favorite adhesive to attach your animals to the sticks, then don’t forget to add your favorite hats or other accessories.
Most kids love to take part in the creating, so let them stamp, color and cut right along with you. Then find a fun spot inside or outside to put on a puppet show. The stairway bannister is a popular spot in our house. We just drape a blanket over the bannister, hide behind it, and peek those little puppets over the top.
I’ve got another summer project to share on my blog today. Here’s a sneak peek, I hope you’ll come check it out!
Have you already been working on some fun crafty projects this summer with your kids? Which ones have been the most successful? (In other words, which projects are keeping the little ones occupied for the longest period of time, ha!) I’d love to see what you’ve been making and be inspired, so leave your project links below in the comments and I’m always checking in on the Sweet Stamp Shop Flickr page, so if your projects use our stamps, remember to upload them to Flickr too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy 4th to all of our US friends!
