Hi, sweet friends! Suzanne here with some inspiration for your next Sweet project!
Sometimes, I’m making a card and I can’t find the right paper to match, so, I make my own designer paper, and you can, too! Sweet Stamp Shop sets are FANTASTIC for making your own designer paper, and after reading this post, I know you’ll grab all of your Sweet sets to make something fun!
I only used one small scrap of designer paper for the first card. The other two cards were made with only smooth card stock and Sweet Stamp Shop sets! You’ll see how well all of the sets mix and match with each other, and you’ll find LOTS of ways to use the stamps in each set!
For this card, I used the small leaf, tiny acorn and heart stamps from the “Cheeky” set:
Tip: To keep a row of stamped images in a straight line, draw a very light pencil line across your card front as a guide. After you’ve stamped and the ink dries, just erase the pencil line!
My second card features the cloud stamp from the “Campout“ set, combined with the “Balloons“ and “Condolences“ sets. I stamped the clouds on a small piece of white card stock, masked them, and sponged matching ink on the card stock to create the sky.
To, finish the card, stamp the balloon string on the cloud background. Then, stamp and trim the balloon and adhere it to the background. Finally, attach the background panel to the card, and stamp the sentiment. (I added some dimensional glaze on the balloon to give it some dimension.)
Tip: One great feature of clear stamps is their flexibility. You can get a custom look by bending the stamp before you apply the ink. I bent the string image slightly to get the look I wanted for the card, because the original stamp wasn’t curved the way I wanted it to be.
My third card features the “Elephant Hearts” set. I made the bubbles with two other sets you might not recognize!
I made the small bubbles with the outline circles from the “Juggling Act” set, and the large bubbles were made by stamping the large outline circle from the “Cookie Sprinkles” set onto the background panel with a few different colors of ink.
As you can see, It’s easy (and fun) to make your own designer paper! Here’s a recap of the stamp sets I used for today’s cards: “Cheeky“, “Campout“, “Condolences“, “Cookie Sprinkles“, “Elephant Hearts,” “Juggling Act“and “Balloons“.
So what do you think? Fun, right? I hope I’ve inspired you to start looking for new creative combinations with your Sweet Stamp Shop sets, and I’d love to see what you create! You can share any of your SWEET projects with us in the Sweet Stamp Shop Flickr group, or on Sweet Stamp Shop’s Facebook page!
