Digi Stamps Are Sweet!

sketchesHello everyone!  Chrissy here with your sneak peek at the upcoming challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch.  It always makes me so happy to pair up our awesome sketches with Sweet Stamp Shop goodies and to give you a little jump on our challenge.  This week, I did something I have never done on a card before but before we get to that, here’s the sketch:

CTS_Sketch_80I think this sketch is totally adorable but it totally threw me for a loop.  After playing with it for awhile, I decided that a sketch is just a starting point and doesn’t have to be followed exactly.  My first card gives you the gist of the sketch but isn’t too literal.  I used the world’s cutest cactus from the Stuck on This stamp set.

stuckonyouSSS_S2WJun1aI absolutely loved this pocket scrapping card and it has been sitting on my desk for months just waiting for me to be inspired enough to use it.  Well, this was the card!  I totally had, “Can’t Touch This”, in my head for the rest of the day after making it though.  😉

My next card uses something I have never tried before, a digi stamp.  Sure, I’ve used digital cuts before and created graphics for cards but I have never used a digi stamp.  For some reason, they sort of intimidated me and I have no idea why.  With the release of Retired Stamps Digi File and Retired Stamps Digi File #2 there was no time like the present to give it a go.  I used the cute little ice cream cone from Retired Stamps Digi File to create this card.

digifile__24886.1400730763.386.513SSS_S2WJun1bThis card is much more literal but, boy, was it a pleasure working with a digi stamp!  All I had to do was load my cardstock, hit print, and I had a whole page of adorable images to color.  LOVE it!  You will totally see me doing more with these awesome images.  I also love that I have this amazing artwork to use but it isn’t taking up space on my desk.  I have a basic Epson printer and I didn’t even have to think of what ink to use for copic coloring, it worked perfectly just as it was printed.  Can’t beat that!  If you find yourself hunting for extra images sometimes to finish off a card or layout, I highly recommend Retired Stamps Digi File and Retired Stamps Digi File #2.  Totally worth EVERY penny!

What do you think about digi stamps?  Do you use them in your cardmaking or scrapbooking?  What else should I try now that I’m totally on board with them?  I’d love your input in the comments section.  Thank so much for checking out my post this morning and I hope you will keep checking in with us on the Sweet Blog.  Don’t forget you can also find more Sweet on Flickr and Instagram.  I just LOVE getting cute Instagram updates with pics from the Sweet team and fun peeks from Nicole.  You will totally want to follow us!  Have a great day and get your digi on!

I use digi stamps for my greeting cards. they re only sent to special people that I know will appreciate them. After all the coloring I don’t want them thrown in the trash after the recipient reads it. I usually fussy cut the stamp out as much as I can.
