Hello everyone, it’s Chrissy checking in with your next dose of Sketches 2 Ways! Today I’m going to play with a fun watercolor technique and I hope you will enjoy it and the sketch for this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. Are you ready for your peek? Here goes nothing!
I just love all the expressions you can put on this sweet little panda and combining it with some of the awesome stamps from Feeling Today, made a perfectly adorable card to just check in with someone you care about. Super fun!
This card was super simple to create and you will totally want to try this! I used distress inks to stamp my balloons, masking where I wanted an overlap. After I stamped my images in the distress ink color I wanted the balloons to be, all I did was use a water brush to bring the color into the center from the stamped outside. Basically, you use the outline of the image you stamped, to paint the inside of the balloon. I created the sky by picking up some distress ink from the pad with my water brush and randomly rubbing it on the paper. Once everything dried, I stamped my strings, my sentiment, and added some alphabet stickers. Easy as pie! I will have some pictures of the steps up on my blog as well as another card I made using another fun watercolor technique. I hope you’ll check it out.
Thanks so much for joining me today and for taking a peek at the sketch and my cards. I hope you liked them both and I would love to hear about some other water color techniques you have tried and liked. I’m always up for something new. So leave me a comment telling me what you like to do with watercolors or better yet, share a card you made with Sweet Stamps and your fav watercolor technique with me on our Flikr group. We’d love to see it. Hope you have a great day and thanks again!
