Chrissy here today to share your special sweet peek at our upcoming challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch and two cards made with Sweet Stamps using the sketch. Is it just me or do you love sketches too? They really get my mojo going. This one is SUPER simple and I just know you can find a million ways to use it. Here it is:
Super simple right? It was tough to decide which stamps to play with for this sketch because I could imagine possibilities for a ton of sets. In the end, I decided to go with cards for events I had coming up…Mother’s Day and Father’s Day!
My Mother’s Day card is up first since it is the most literal translation of the sketch. I used Hats for my first card…LOVE THIS SET!
As you can see in the picture, I used faint chevron patterned paper for my background and then stamped “Mom” from Hats repeatedly to create a new background. I added the little heart tag to the top and embossed the heart and “thank you” in red. Finally, I colored in the “Mom” with a gold glitter pen. I love how the chevrons lead your eye down to the sentiment.
For this card, I actually used the back of my deer stamp from Monogram It to stamp a background using versamark for my gold embossing powder layers. When I layered enough embossing powder on top of each other, I stamped my deer image into the still warm powder. I re-stamped the deer with some black ink that I stamped off once first. I liked how this aged the gold a bit. I then stamped my “Dad” image from Dad’s Tool Box and colored it in with an orange colored pencil (my dad’s favorite color is orange). I finished the card off with a gold foil edge and I think my dad’s really going to like it! If you’d like to see a more detailed description of how I stamped my deer image, check it out on my blog.
So, did you like my two takes on the sketch? Do you think you’ll join us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week? Which of the amazing Sweet Stamps would you use for this sketch? I’d love to know. Leave me a comment below telling me which set you think would work well for this sketch. Maybe, I’ll just have to play with that one too! Thanks for checking in with me today and I hope to catch up with you over at the Sweet Stamp Shop Facebook Page. We have a blast over there and you won’t want to miss it!
