One Set, Two Different Ways: Elegant Sentiments

SSS Elegant Sentiments sneak

Hey, it’s Amy T, lately I’ve been inspired by some scrapbook manufacturers that have been designing paper with black backgrounds and white calligraphy text.  I absolutely LOVE that bold look.  Today I’m sharing 2 cards that have been inspired by that trend:

Sweet Stamp Shop Elegant Sentiments male by Amy Tsuruta

I found out this week that a former co-worker of mine is engaged!  Exciting Times!  This is the card that I made especially for him…a masculine engagement card!  What do you think?  I’m actually pretty proud of this one, I struggle with masculine cards.

I heat embossed the Cheers from the Elegant Sentiments set in Zing White.  The congratulations is from the Easily Distracted set.  It has been stamped in gold Delicata.

Up next is the same Elegant Sentiments used in a feminine card:

Sweet Stamp Shop Elegant Sentiments female by Amy TsurutaI LOVE how this one turned out.  The boldness of the happy is balanced with the awesome pop of colors!  This is going to a co-worker that will be celebrating an upcoming birthday.  I think it suits her bubbly/happy personality.

Honestly, I started off heat embossing and then stopped.  I hadn’t really decided how I wanted to finish off the card or even finish off the sentiment.  Can I tell you that I LOVE vellum?!  It’s so awesome and versatile.

That’s it for me today.    Before I go, I wanted to find out if  you are recovering from all the eye candy ala May Release #1?!  What’s your favorite set?!

Both cards are absolutely gorgeous! I also love the chalkboard look and vellum… and many other items :). As a girl, I prefer the touch of color on your second card, but you made a true original style with the masculine card, a very successful alternative to the popular design we see everywhere, I think. The Elegant Sentiments set is just beautiful!
