Hi everyone! Colie here, and I am so excited to be able to share my mini album with you all today! We all love how mini albums look, right? But it is so much work! Not to mention buying a bunch of extra supplies. But, it doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. I made an album using pocket page cards that I already had, punched some holes, added D-rings, and done! And let’s be honest, if you use the pocket page style of scrapbooking you probably already have too many of these little cards – use them!!
Now, I will admit that I learn SO MUCH from my Sweet Family here, particularly the card makers! First off, be adventurous with your stamping and try different materials. The front cover of my album is a transparent plastic, it gives a lovely effect when stamped!
I would suggest using an ink like Staz-On for an application like this, but I cheated (oops!) and using Ranger Archival Ink. I had to let it dry for a VERY long time and be super careful when stamping to not spread ink around.
I used some simple heart stamps throughout the album to tie in a theme. Hearts and gold accents were my main design point which made it all pull together pretty quickly because I didn’t need to think too much about what to put on each page!
The other thing I have learned here at the Sweet Stamp Shop is to try new types of inks! I am loving the fun effect of using a gold metallic ink in this album. It has a totally different feel from other inks.
I would definitely suggest the Starts Here stamp for this type of project. It’s a stamp I use all the time and it worked wonderfully for the cover of my album and even a couple pages.
I had so much fun putting this together and I hope you give it a try too! Please leave me a comment below letting me know how you like to use your pocket cards outside of the page protector! I am always looking for new ideas! And be sure to “like” the Sweet Stamp Shop Facebook page so you don’t miss out on any of the latest releases, blog posts, and sometimes even coupons! See you sweet stampers soon! 🙂
