shot of neon

Hi all, it’s Amy and I’m back with a fun card.

SSS 04042014 supplies

I’m no Copic colorista so I’ve been really embracing the distress stains, watercoloring and other mediums.  I do have a bucket of copics but I like the free form feel of the other inks.

SSS from both of us
For my card today, I used the awesome image from the Across The Miles set

There is NO WAY that I was going to copic the image so I swiped a Hero Arts ink dauber (tide pool) onto a panel of vellum.   I helped it flatten out {it curls because of the ink} by using my heat gun.   Layering the panel on top of the stamped {and heat embossed} image makes it instantly colored!  As I was stitching the vellum onto the base panel, I had the idea of adding the flat neon sequins.

Insta-shaker card!

In March I took my girl to New York for a couple days.  My fab bloggie friend, Lauren, took time out of her day to play tour guide to us {she did it last summer too!}.  The Across the Miles set combined with the Monogram It set makes for a great Thank You card.

I stamp and fussy cut out the banner and heat embossed, from both of us, in white, directly on the vellum.

I strategically put neon enamel dots on Washington and New York and connected them with stitching ala a sticker.

Shaker cards make for a fun interactive greeting.  How about you, have you recently make a shaker card?
