Peeky Cheeky

sketches

Good morning everyone!  It’s Chrissy and I’m here with 2 fun takes on this week’s upcoming CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  Yes, that means you get a sneak peek at the sketch that doesn’t even come out until Thursday!  Aren’t you SO happy you follow the Sweet Stamp Shop blog?  I’m telling you, you can’t beat all the fun we have here.  Without further ado, here’s the sketch:

CTS_Sketch_72For my first take on the sketch I used the Feeling Today stamp set.

feeling todaySSS_S2W_Apr2WMThis was a pretty quick card to make which makes life SO much easier when you forget to make a card for someone or need a card in a hurry.  That is one of the awesome things about this set, you can make a super cute one layer card in no time for tons of occasions.  Today, I wanted a card to make someone smile and I think this would do it.  All I had to do was line all the stamps up on my stamp press, ink the “Today” first then the rest of the stamps, line it up on the card, and press.  Viola!  I finished off my sentiment with some thickers and colored in the cheeks.  Super simple, easily mailable, and amazingly adorable.  Can’t beat that!

My next take uses the adorable new Cheeky stamp set.  I LOVE THIS SET!

CheekySeriously, could this be any cuter?  Here’s my card:

SSS_S2W_Apr1WMI decided I wanted my little squirrel to be a little shy this time around.  Luckily, he eventually warms up to us.  😉  This card is actually the more literal for the sketch but it’s a little more involved than my previous card.  Here’s what I did:

SSS_S2W_steps1.  I cut two of my top layers with my Silhouette Cameo.  One for a mask and one for the actual card front.  I also knew I was going to emboss my squirrel and ink up the card  base just a touch so I gathered all my supplies.

2.  Working with post its and my mask, I stamped little parts of my Cheeky fellow peeking out through his hole using Versamark.  I then removed my masks and sprinkled on my black embossing.

3.  With my embossing complete, I used my blender to ink up the edges and center a bit.  I didn’t want it to be too severe so I ended up using the lighter of the two distress inks.

4.  Finally, I used some dimensional foam adhesive to attach the card front, added some thickers, and tossed on a little banner.

I think it ended up being a great take on the sketch and a mighty fun card.  I hope you enjoyed it and will join in at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.  Break out your Sweet Stamp Shop stamps and play with the sketches.  When you are done, come share it with us on Facebook or Flickr.  We’d love to see how you can show off your Sweet with this fun sketch.  What do you think, anything come jumping to mind when  you look at the sketch?  Go with it and share with us!  Until next time, happy stamping!
