Happy Friday, sweet peeps!!! Nicole Picadura here, I’m so glad you are joining me to create a fun birthday card!
How many of you don’t tend to go back to older stamp sets? I think sometimes we tend to be caught up with new stamp sets each month that we don’t really get a full use out of our previously purchased stamps. So today, we are going to visit the awesome, previously released sets for a birthday card – Too Hip & Stuck On This.
Make sure to watch the video tutorial below to see how I created this card in action, and you can follow along with me! I am sharing few tricks there so you won’t wanna miss.
For the background, I took out a fun, colorful patterned paper and used both sides to create a cardbase background and a smaller focal point background piece. Double sided background papers give you the most bang for your buck!
I stamp the adorable cactus image from the Stuck on This and this uber cute birthday hat from Too Hip. I colored them in with few Copic markers (colors shown in the video below) and cut them out to create a fun 3D effect. Do you want to know how I managed the pokey things from the cactus image? Well, you will have to see the video 🙂
The sentiment is also from Too Hip. I simply stamped that on to a white cardstock and gave a ribbon edge for a fun look. Decorated the card with couple of sequins and enamel dots. Lots of people use liquid glue to secure sequins, but the best way is to use glue dots! That way you don’t need to deal with the mess. (I am a neat freak!!)
Anyhow, enjoy the video! And please leave me comments if you have any questions or thoughts. Would LOVE to hear from you!! Thanks for joining me today!!
