distress inks, stains and paints, oh my!

Hello there, everyone!

Samantha here again, sharing some cards I made after browsing on the Sweet Stamp Shop Pinterest boards!! I LOVE browsing their pins! Have you been, why not?! You can check out their boards here!

Today, I am sharing two cards I made after I was inspried by this GEM of a card, by fellow Sweet Stamp Shop Design Team Member, Amy Tsuruta!

Amy’s card uses the lower alpha stamp set! A definite FAVORITE set of mine!

And just LOOK at that background from the distress stains…it’s absolutely stunning! I love the bold colors, the distress-y ness of it, and the simple, CAS sentiment!

Now, I know I can’t compete with that work of art, but I sure had fun creating my cards – talk about inspiration! My cards also use the lower alpha stamp set for the main sentiment, but then I also used alpha tabs and anatomy of love!

For my first card, I used distress paints to create the messy, watercolor-y background.  Fun, right?

How do you use distress paints? I am totally digging distress paints right now! And I LOVE learning new ways to stamp with them!

Since I happened to choose some gender neutral colors, I decided to go masculine with this! I really like this card, and I had a BLAST making it!

Just a few wood veneers and a popped up panel, and the card was done!

My second card is really fun too!! But instead of distress paints, I used distress inks and then made it girly! You can see it on my blog! Which do you prefer? The distress inks or paints? ard is your favorite?

So that’s it! 🙂 Time for you to head on over to the Sweet Stamp Shop Pinterest page and find some inspriation! If you find a card you can’t get enough of, leave the link in a comment below, and I’ll CAS it next time! I would LOVE that!

Thanks again!

~Samantha
