Happy Saturday! I am very excited to feature a fun new series, Color Play! On every other Fridays, you will be seeing a brand-new tutorial from me featuring different ways to incorporate colors to your projects. It can be anything from Distress Inks to Copic Makers to embossing powders. I started this series hoping to inspire you more and to show you different ways to maximize your sweet stamps. Are you ready to get started?!
For today’s project, I am sharing a fun card using the Mr. Octopus Stamp Set. This set was just released and it is one of my favorites because I am in love with the Mr. Octopus! He is great for boy or guy cards and you can even change colors to look like a Ms. Octopus! Possibility is endless.
You wouldn’t want to miss my video tutorial below to see the card come to life! I started with a cardstock layer using 4 different Distress Ink Pads. I chose shades of green and blue and created a gradation look for the background. I misted a water lightly after blending those colors to give a fun, light splatter look. It is supposed to look like the ocean!
I added a piece of vellum cardstock and used Versamark with a clear embossing powder for a super soft background. I used the heart image from the Mr. Octopus Stamp Set.
Mr. Octopus was colored using the C1, C3, C4, and C9 Copic Makers. Oh, I also used R20 for the blush effect. Isn’t it adorable? I shared couple of tips on coloring and cutting stamped images so catch those tips on the video.
The sentiments are also from the Mr. Octopus stamp set. I stamped the bigger one onto the white cardstock piece and added a shimmer using the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. The smaller sentiment “stuck on you” was stamped directly onto the vellum.
This card is super easy and quick to create- The stamp set has everything you need to create different cards each time. Talk about versatility! I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for stopping by!
