Hello there! Samantha here, and I’m still so excited about the release Sweet Stamp Shop just had! Did you see all of the new sets? Seriously, SO cute!! And to make March even more special – there’s going to be ANOTHER release in a few weeks!! Yep! It’s a good month to be a SWEET friend!! 🙂
Did you know that Sweet Stamp Shop has an active pinterest page? YES!! And there is SOOO much inspiration there! Today starts my new series that spotlights Pinterest! Who doesn’t love being inspired by and looking (for hours!) on Pinterest, right?
I love the ombre, the birds on a wire (one of my FAVORITE sets!) and the sweet scene (that really could be used for almost ANY occassion!) What’s not to love? If you love it as much I do, you should leave Lalo some love on her blog and tell her you saw her card on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog! 🙂
So I was SOOOO inspired by this card, that I made THREE cards! All of the cards use the same stamp sets Sentimental Birds and AlphaTabs (literally 2 of my all time favorite Sweet Stamp Shop sets!).
I love the way the bold, tiny type font goes with the romantic feeling of the birds on a wire! 🙂
Here’s my first card!
After heat embossing in white onto cardstock, I used my distress inks to add lots of color! Peacock feathers is my FAVORITE, but then I added just a hint of yellow in the middle. So pretty! The sentiment was stamped, cut out and then sewn on. I LOVE the look of sewn on tiny letters!
My next card uses the almost the same colors, but with a completly different technique!
I was going for a watercolor look! Here’s how I did it!
I used watercolor paper and took a foam brush and covered the paper in a light layer of water. Then I dipped my brush into some drops of mist – that I had put onto a tin foil tray (I don’t have a craft mat, so the tin foil just makes easy clean up!) and brushed it along in lines onto my paper. SUPER easy, fun and SO pretty!
And I have one more card on my blog using a 2nd watercoloring technique! Again I coated the watercolor paper in a light layer of water, then i sprayed my mists directly onto the paper and used my heat gun to move the color and dry it on. I like it a lot!
So next time you’re on Pinterest, looking around for inspiration, check out the Sweet Stamp Shop!! And if you happen to create something from what you found – leave me a comment!! I would LOVE to come check it out! And if you do, look for your card on Pinterest, because I’ll be posting it on the Sweet Friends page!
