Hey guys, Andrea here!
I’m new to the sweet stamp shop design team and will be hanging out for the next few months. Elated is not a grand enough word to describe how I feel about being part of such a creative and forward thinking stamp company!
Recently, they’ve been dipping their toes into the pocket scrapping world and I’m here to share how stamps are so important in this style of scrapbooking. For those of you who don’t know me, I go by retrohipmama on facebook, youtube and instagram. Fashion, scrapbooking, craftiness and motherhood are the items I post about most.
Scrapbooking took over my life in 1997 and then evolved into pocket scrapbooking in 2010. There are no plans to go back to the traditional way of documenting our life as a family. Because, let’s just start with the fact that pocket style scrapbooking is basically a bunch of mini layouts. So the creativity is still there. Except, no longer are we forced to fill an entire 12×12 page with one single memory. Now we have the freedom to display an entire week’s worth of life into that same page size.
This is where stamping comes in to save the day! Even though a picture does say a thousand words, sometimes you want to be sure a certain sentiment is captured forever. Like this card I embellished to compliment this one little flower that bloomed in February. The best part about the sweet stamps is how well they work with other designs and embellishments. And unlike stickers or die cuts, stamps can be used over and over and over. BLOOM is stamped using outline upper alpha.
Making my own sentiments is super easy with the variety of stamps in the sweet collection. My day is stamped using alpha tabs and starts here is actually the stamp of the same name. To add dimension, I used pop dots behind the my day pieces.
Sometimes you’re looking for that perfect word. Something that screams what you’re trying to say. When documenting a new fashion find, the only appropriate word was fantabulous! from the spin me set.
Whatever kind of scrapbooking you do or whether you consider yourself a stamper or not, sweet stamps can add some serious fun to your layouts! So thanks for hanging out with me today! See you next time!
