Mini Treat Box

sss treat box8Today I’m super excited to be creating a really adorable mini treat box (or SWEET box, hehe) using a few new Sweet Stamp Shop stamps, and a few older ones, too. What’s great about the stamps from the SSS is that you can combine them to create the most adorable things. For instance, I used 6 different SSS sets to create a typography look on the front of this mini treat box. Using this technique would be perfect and fun when creating tags, layouts, and cards, too!

To start off, I used a mini treat box die by, My Favorite Things; however, you can create this project with any already-made treat box; or, you can even create your own. If you’d like to create one yourself, the measurements of this box when assembled are: 2 ½”x 1 ½”x 3 ¾”. sss treat boxAfter cutting two treat box panels using my die from MFT, I inked up the sentiment “Baked with love” from the SSS stamp set, Baking Love—since this is a treat box that I filling with home baked treats! Now, since I’m going for a typography look I’m planning on keeping all of the sentiments and images aligned so it looks pretty—yet still really neat an organized.  sss treat box1Next, I chose to use the sentiment ‘Happy birthday’ from the set, Just the basics, and I used the soft granite ink by hero arts—for a bit of contrast and interest. I then used the ampersand from the, Numbers-Symbols, stamp set and stamped that, soon after, in the color soft lilac (which I think compliments all the other colors I’m going to be using). Next I used the “Hip hip hooray” sentiment from the NEW stamp set, Too Hip (which is so cute!) and stamped that in black Memento ink. Then I grabbed the solid heart image from the Foxy set, and inked that up in pale tomato ink. Next, I grabbed my, Too Hip set once again but this time I used the adorable hippo image and also added his nerdy glasses (which is just one out of a several adorable elements that are within this set. Once that was done, I realized I had a little bit of an empty space on the upper right side of the hippo image so I decided to use the small heart image from the stamp set, Stuck on You, and the “Enjoy” sentiment from, Baking Love. I was so excited that I was able to fit that sentiment in because I felt that it went perfectly with this “Happy birthday + Baked with love” custom sentiment. sss treat box2Once I was done with the design, I was ready to add color to the hippo and the small heart image. So I used my Copics: C1 Cool gray, C3 Cool gray, and C5 Cool gray to color him in, and I used my Copic marker: B02 Robins egg blue to fill in the heart. sss treat box3When I was satisfied with the design and coloring I followed the assembly instructions on how to score the box, applied some permanent adhesive, and assembled it. It was pretty simple.sss treat box4Lastly, I grabbed a small piece of pink tissue paper, wrapped the home baked brownie bites into the box and covered them with another layer if tissue paper. I think this box came out so cute and I can’t wait to make another one! sss treat box6
