Inspired By Patterned Paper

Lindsay here with my last post as a Design Team member (sad face).  For this Inspiration 101 post, we are going to be talking about patterned paper.  What’s great about it, is the fact that the hard work is essentially done for you.  From the color combination, to the elements it contain, all of your basics are covered.  Let’s see it in action, shall we?

For my paper, I chose a 6×6 piece from Carte Bella’s Wildflower pad.  The colors are so pretty, and hey, there are sequins on it!  Those two things from this piece helped me put together my card.  I chose the coordinating colors of the paper from Distress Markers, and grabbed my waterbrush.

To begin, I took the markers, and scribbled my colors onto my craft mat.  I then spritzed it generously with water, and laid my watercolor paper onto it.  I lifted it up, and dabbed any excess off, drying it with my heat tool to speed up the process.

Next, I took the sequin images from the Sparkle and Shine set, and stamped them in a black ink, scribbling in some glitter with my Wink of Stella pen.  I then used the Happy from the Elegant Sentiments set, heat embossing the other half onto black cardstock.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration today, and give your patterned papers another look.  If you create something inspired by your stash, let me know!  I would love to see it!
