Hi everyone! This is my last post as a design team member for the Sweet Stamp Shop, and since I love to make party decorations I thought I’d create some birthday party themed cupcake toppers using a new release stamp set, and three stamps sets from the previous release.
The stamp sets used to create this birthday theme cupcake topper set are:
I started out by using the hippo image from the stamp set, Too Hip, and I stamped two of those onto a piece of white card stock. Next I stamped the glasses image onto the little hippo for some added cuteness. Next, I took the circle image from the stamp set, Cookie Sprinkles and stamped that onto the card stock as well. Then I grabbed my set, Numbers-Symbols and stamped the number 2 inside that circle—the idea here is to stamp the age of the person you’ll be making these for. Next I used the speech bubble from the stamp set, Foxy, and I used the “Hip hip Hooray” sentiment from the, Too Hip set and stamped that inside the bubble using red ink—for a little contrast. Next, I added some color using my Copic markers. When coloring in your images you can use any type of markers, color pencils, or water colors. There is really no wrong way to color in your stamped images. Just have fun with it!
Once the coloring is done, you can cut out each of the images and adhere them to your food picks. It’s that simple! Making cupcake toppers with clear stamps is so much fun—and the possibilities are endless. Try taking a few of your SSS stamp sets and create your own by mixing and matching them! We’d love to see what you come up with—and feel free to share your SWEET creations in the Flickr group. I hope you’ve enjoyed my last blog post!
